AI Explorex lists AI tools and links out to them. Some of those links can earn us money. This page explains exactly when, how much it changes what you read, and how to tell the difference — in plain words rather than in a paragraph written to satisfy a regulator.
Where things stand right now
As of today we are not in a single affiliate programme, and no link on this site earns us anything. Every "Visit website" button goes straight to the tool. This page exists because that will change, and we would rather publish the policy before the money than after it.
That line is generated from the site’s own configuration, not typed by hand, so it stays true as programmes are joined rather than going stale the week after this page was written.
What an affiliate link is
If we join a company’s affiliate programme, the link we send you to carries a code. If you then subscribe or buy, that company pays us a share. It never costs you more — the price you pay is the same as if you had typed the address into your browser yourself.
How you can tell
We do not think a disclosure buried on a page like this one is enough, so:
- Any link that earns us a commission says so on the tool’s own page, next to the button — at the moment you are deciding whether to click, not three clicks away.
- Those links are marked
rel="sponsored"in the page’s code, which is what search engines ask for. Links that earn us nothing are not marked that way, because saying they were would be untrue.
The rule that actually matters
Money can buy a position on this site. It can never buy a verdict.
Our descriptions say what a tool is good at and where it disappoints, and the second half is the reason the page is worth reading. That does not change because a company pays us. If it ever did, the only thing this directory has would be gone, and it would not come back.
Concretely, that means:
- A tool is listed because it belongs in the catalogue, never because someone paid to be in it.
- A tool is not removed or softened because a company objected to what we wrote.
- Where a listing is a paid placement, it is visually marked as one. It is not slipped into an ordinary list and left to look like an editorial choice.
- Our rating and our criticism are written before we look at whether a link earns anything.
Dead links and closed products
We check every tool’s website and mark the ones that no longer answer. A listing flagged “link down” stays up rather than quietly disappearing, because a reader who followed an old recommendation deserves to be told the product has gone rather than be handed a 404. We do not earn anything from those links, and we flag them anyway.
Where our facts come from
Tool names, official websites, pricing models and categories are facts, and we cross-check them against each tool’s own site. Some of the catalogue was originally assembled with reference to Futurepedia, and each listing credits that on its own page. The write-ups are ours. We have not copied anyone’s descriptions.
Advertising and sponsorship
If we ever sell a sponsored listing, a banner, or a newsletter placement, it will be labelled as advertising on the page where it appears, and this section will say so. Until it does, there is none.
Questions
If something on this site looks like it was written for a commission rather than for you, say so and we will look at it. That is a genuine offer, not a formality — a directory that cannot be corrected is not worth trusting.
